How to handle MP3 Lyrics
« on: May 14, 2009, 03:00:45 pm »

iTunes has a way to update lyrics by selecting a large number and letting it run.
MC13 does not have the capability.
I run itunes (because of my iPhone) and MC13 (because MC is the BEST).  Both products share the same Data Files.
My problem is this:
When itunes updates the lyrics it is stored in unsyncedlyrics and does not show in MC13 when I go to view lyrics field.
But, when I update Lyrics field in MC13 it is immediately viewable in iTunes.
Why, what do I need to do to see it in both places.
I have NO problem updating in MC13 if there is an auto way to get the lyrics into the MP3 headers.
Thanks for the help.

is there a way in MC13 to update lyrics field from unsyncedlyrics field?
This would solve my problem.
Or a way to mass update lyrics in MC13 like there is in iTunes.
Again, i am not a fan of iTunes, but I do have an iPhone and I like the Resume app a lot.
MC13 needs a Resume app feature.

Sorry it is the Remote feature that I like in iTunes.
Again, I am not a fan of iTunes, it leaves a lot to be desired.
If I could auto update lyrics in MC13, I would be happy.
Any ideas?

There used to be a lyrics plugin years ago written by a user but it has been discontinued. The best thing right now is Lyrics Editor by Doof: http://www.dooftoo.com/lyricseditor.html

It's a manual process but it's a lot better than the editor within MC.

ok, manual will not get it - I have too many songs to update manually.  So, is there an automated way to update the Lyrics in ID3 label outside of MC13?
I know we don't want to talk about iTunes in this forum and I agree.  But I do find it interested that:
I can update lyrics inside MC13 and they immediately show up in iTunes as I share the same data.
But, if I update in iTunes, it does NOT show up in MC13.  Why, is it an ID3V2 vs ID3V1 issue?  I don't know.

Since you haven't mentioned it, I'll just ask real quick: Did you use "Library Tools > Update tags from file" (or whatever the exact phrasing of that command is)?
