Can one use other instances of MC as Zones?
« on: May 16, 2009, 01:45:27 pm »

Hi, I've been thinking about something and wondering if there is a way to do it.  I have MC installed on my home office computer, my htpc and soon will have another htpc in the bedroom.  I keep looking at zone setups, but since I have PCs with MC in every room, I was wondering if there was a way to sync whatever is playing between them like a zone.  Basically I want to start playing a playlist or movie or what-have-you on my office PC, then instead of stopping it upstairs and starting it over downstairs, I want to go to my downstairs htpc, point it to media center running on my upstairs pc, and tell it to sync up with whatever is playing and paly it there as well.  This way I could control what was playing in both places from either computer, or have them playing seperate things.

Again I'm not sure something like this is possible, but it would be very neat.

Any thoughts?

So, since quite a few people have looked at this post and no ones replied, I am going to go out on a limb and guess this is not an option right now :)

Oh well, one more idea for the books.
