Smartlist w/random tracks and a date rule

I'm trying to create a smartlist (actually a series of smartlists) that will enable me to catch up on a lot of old podcast episodes I've missed. I'm going about it piecemeal, and am having trouble with one of the pieces...

1. A playlist for current/new episodes: [Genre]=[Podcast] [Date]=>02/14/2009
2. A playlist for a certain number of 'old' episodes: [Genre]=[Podcast] [Date]=<02/14/2009 ~n=5
3. The 'sync' playlist that includes the results of #1 & #2.

The problem is that smartlist #2 (the 'old' playlist) is only returning the 5 most recent 'old' episodes. I was hoping to get a random selection of the old episodes.

Any insights as to how to randomize the selections being returned by the 2nd smartlist?

Try to add 'shuffle' (~sort=Random) between the Date and ~n=5

Perfect! I had tried using the shuffle modifier, but only at the end of the smartlist...
