Crash when pressing ctrl/shift (or other) keys
« on: June 08, 2009, 07:45:15 am »

- Hitting CTRL or SHIFT anywhere in MC14 does crash MC, this makes MC14 completely useless.
- Even typing in something into the search box crashes MC, so how am I supposed to test the new search functions ?
...
Sounds like a problem with the newly added "HID" remote control support. Go into Tools/Options/Remote control and make sure all remote control devices are disabled and then see if you still have the problem.

Do you guys know if this started happening with build 14.0.7? That was the first build with the HID remote support.

indeed 14.0.6 works great. 14.0.7 crashes when using any key..
dont know if it is important. but i use a hid keyboard, the same i use for w7 where it works nice as a hid remote.

went back to 6... no problem.

now i got an idea to test. so installed 7 again. enabled the remote and enabled in the options>remote the hid devices and no crashes...
installed 9

disabled the hid devices..restart.. no crashes
disabled remote in general features... restart... crash
enabled the last one again.. restart.. no crashes..

 :)

edit: the same happens under windows7 when disabling the remote under general features

It was not enabled.
I enabled the remote, disabled it again, now the keys work again.
