JR Media Center with Sidewinder X6 Media Keys
« on: May 23, 2009, 01:03:45 pm »

I just picked up a couple Microsoft Sidewinder X6 keyboards for replacements, but I can't seem to get the builting media keys to work with JR Media Center while MC is minimized or a non-active window. If the MC is the active app they all work, but if not, they don't respond. They will control Windows Media Player just fine no matter the windows status. (supprise, supprise ::)) The above is true with or without the latest sidewinder software for the keyboard.  I've tried all the option in the Tools, Options, Advanced, Media key mode, with no luck. Any ideas? TIA. Back to searching....

My original post above was back when I was using Vista, I am now using WIndows 7 and it still does not work. Only improvment on the Microsoft side is a recent update to the driver that opens the calculator as a active window, vs. being inactive. Whoopie. Yeah it sucks having to use the tray icon on MC to forward, pause play, stop etc.

Yeah...I fixed it with resource.xml config though.

Was a pain to remap the keys manually.
