A sport for sissies! You wanna try to run 400 kilometers on a pair of plastic strips on snow? That's for real vikings! ;-)

Thanks Zevele,

He is the 4th Aussie to be doing really well at this years Tour!
I think that is a record for us Australians!
(in fact I think there are only 4 Aussies in the race! .......hmmm now that I think about it there might be some riding as domestiques for various teams -I know there is someone with US Postal....)

Can you believe that it is only on TV here for half an hour of highlights! -Really annoying!
-I have to wait another 6 hours before I can watch today's stage (and Brad McGee win) summarised in half an hour of highlights! -It isn't right.

Zev, did you see Robby McEwen win his stage?
He has been battling for the line in almost every sprint finish against the great Eric Zabel. (and Eric isn't to pleased about having another Australian that can potentially take away "his" green jersy. -actually I personally think he was very lucky last year in Paris to win the green in a Sprint finish against our O'Grady -who held the green for the entire race!)

I had better stop now, -I can go on a bit too much about when it come to the Tour De France.

thanks again

sissies, hmmmm.......

O.K. I admit that this year the race is 700km shorter than it was in 1992.
....but I think 3282km (oh, -thats over 2000 miles for the Americans that dont know kms) is long enough for a bike race that includes cycling up mountains which are over 2.6km (1.6miles) in vertical height.

I think the only other sport that comes close to this is the Ironman Triathlon -and that's mostly finished in around 12hours.

:)

..and for King:
"...well when I were a lad, we had to walk 200 miles to school through snow with bear feet coz we didn't have shoes!"
"Bear feet, huh! Luxury! When I were I lad WE didn't have feet!"
:)
Does anyone recognise where/who this is quoted from. :)
(it is very roughly para-quoted as I can't remember the exact wording, but anyone who's heard the show would recognise it. :) )
