Hi MC developers,
I'd like ask your opinion on the ability of MC code to be ported to or integrated with XUL Runner. Since this XML based framework allows interoperability with other platforms, why not port MC and it's host of features to run on more than one operating system?
The Mozilla foundation has set a standard with Firefox, Thunderbird and Songbird as of late, when it comes to experiencing modern media regardless of the underlying system architecture. Just like MC, this platform allows the use of plugins.
I am sorry to say this, but I believe that the MC software could leave a much larger footprint on the market if it was independent of the windows world.
The question is not how to cram even more gimmicks into an existing software (which makes it bulkier and harder to maintain) but to grant it's well established standards to a larger community of potential customers.
There is a German proverb that says "weniger ist mehr", meaning "less is more".
