EPG import - .mxf file - IceTV
« on: June 24, 2009, 08:07:17 pm »

I have an epg file which is the .mxf file format which is uploaded into Windows MCE via the program C:\Windows\ehome\loadmxf.exe. I am in Australia and the file is created by a utility which is provided by the IceTV epg provider.

Is there any way in which Media Center can utilise this file to create an EPG?

I can provide a copy of the file.

I'm in Oz too but am not using IceTV.

I'm sure you can get an xmltv file from icetv that MC will import.

I use this script to build my EPG from free sources (over the air etc), but it also has the option to use IceTV, might be worth looking at.

Not sure were you are located, but Calvi has done the Meblourne configs, I've done the Sydney ones and there are also Perth ones provided as well.

Envyc, Confishy,

I use IceTV with their webget grabber.

Download it from http://www.icetv.com.au/support/howto/webget.exe

Run it with the following

Run this executable
C:\webget.exe (whatever the fie location is)

Command Line arguments
"http://iceguide.icetv.com.au/cgi-bin/epg/iceguide.cgi?op=xmlguide" -u username -p password -o c:\cmlguide.xml (again, wherever and whatever you choose)

Load XMLTV results from this file
c:\xmlguide.xml (saved file)

Works flawlessly.

How is this automated within MC15? For example, if I have an ICETV account how does the guide automatically get loaded into MC15, eg. at a certain time each day or on startup, etc. Is there an area within MC15 that allows you to configure the EPG commands. Thanks.
