where is my remote server?
« on: June 27, 2009, 06:51:21 pm »

I've enabled it in Options but it's nowhere to be found. Library Server shows up in the list. I've given JRiver access in Zone Alarm, Windows firewall is not enabled.

edited - Well it doesn't seem to be listed in the plug in folder. If the problem is that it's not installed, where do I get it, I've been to the MC plug in page and don't see it anywhere

edited again - I found it in the folder. Clicked on install - "Failed to install plug in."

Take a look at the "Servers" entry on our wiki (link above).  It explains more.  It won't show up as a plug-in.

If you know the IP address, try this in a web browser on another PC.

http://[address]
or if you've set a port different than 80, try this
http://[address]:[port]

You can also try it from the same PC:
http://localhost

I looked at the Wiki first and did what it said. But under Services and Plug Ins there is no Remote Server. There is a TiVo server, a library server and a upnp server. BTW I just downloaded the latest MC13

It isn't a plug-in.  Try what I said above.

Adding songs with the server gave me an idea. What if we had the option of displaying a "+" to the far left of every song. Clicking it would add it to Playing Now. And in Playing Now, you could have a minus sign.

I'm lazy, I hate double clicking   ;)

Jeez, I'm having trouble again. I only did this once and it worked. I'm pretty sure, from this laptop downstairs, I just entered http://localhost and it worked, but its not now. I know I'm connected to my wireless network
