Feature Request: Ability to lock a view
« on: August 03, 2009, 06:17:35 am »

Since MC 13, I've changed my layout to display 2 views:
- one with tabs to browse my library
- one on the right to display "playing now"

Here is a screenshot:

It's working really great but I'd like a little tweak to make it perfect  :)
In this configuration i newer want the playing now window to change and it happens accidentally (when i change the order of the playlist for ex), or sometimes MC changes the focus of the view by itself (when changing access control for ex).
So It would be great to add an option on a view to "lock" it. In this mode, you won't be able to change its content.
We can also imagine (but that's a  bonus  ;) ) an option to specify the behaviour when a link is activated. The best would be to change the other view (locate an artist for ex will update the left side view)

It's been asked for a lot in the past, and I hope it's implemented soon. I've given up the use of split views my self because of this.
Ability to lock one view and make the link actions jump directly to the unlocked view would make the day of my self and others like me, a lot smoother.

No reason for me to upgrade to MC14 right now, but the ability to lock views would make me do so.

I've also been waiting for a lock view feature too.
