Sharing ratings between MC13 and iTunes?

I use MC13 for most things including rating my music. I save ratings in the file. However, I recently imported my library into iTunes and found that the Rating field was blank for all songs. Are there separate Rating fields for MC13 and iTunes? Any way to share the ratings between them? (I don't ever plan to rate with iTunes, I just want it to recognize the ratings I set in MC13.)
