Jukebox update resulted in Media Center install
« on: September 10, 2009, 02:35:49 pm »

On firing up Jukebox this morning, I got a dialog announcing the availability of a Media Jukebox update.  After downloading and installing the package, I discovered that it was an install of Media Center.  Of course it was under the 30 day trial.  After a lengthy updating of the database and tags, I uninstalled it.  The dialog text was "The following updates are available:" with a listbox containing "Media Jukebox  15100KB".  The description text below was "JRiver Media Center version 14.0 is available for $49.98.".  Not exactly clear what you're getting.  Is there an update for Jukebox forthcoming?

I got this too... way to make my day and then crush it all in the space of 5mins haha. Probably an error at the server.

Same thing happened to me this morning.

Now, for some reason, the links to download Jukebox are screwed up. I cant download the installer.

Weird

You can get the install files here: http://www.mediajukebox.com/.

I wonder if some official reaction will be heard in this case...

It did it again this morning, I restarted MJ obviously.

Its annoying cause its not even relevant to the download name, and I know a lot of people that will download it, end up with Media Center and be like WTF! Its more like forced and misleading advertising, the fine print (the description) is however correct. I hope they fix it, slow reaction so far.

yeah this is getting really old every time I start up I have to click cancel.

it's a little disconcerting how non responsive the dev is when it comes to media jukebox.

you can disable the check for update in the options under startup.
it says that there is an update for media jukebox, in the box under it, it states that it is jriver media center 14 and the price. imo its worth its price, but i also agree its a bit misleading.
