I am currently using MC13.  In past versions I have been able to search using the upper right box for, say, "Frank Sinatra" and MC would return all the songs where he is the artist listed and all the songs where he is in the Comments field (eg the Artist is Harry James and the comment says "vocal Frank Sinatra".  Now I have to choose whether I want Frank Sinatra, the artist or Frank Sinatra in comments.  Also it appears that MC only finds Frank Sinatra in comments when the comment is exactly "Frank Sinatra", ie if the comment is "v Frank Sinatra", MC does not return that one.

How do I get it to work like it used to.

Tools, Options, Library & Folders, Manage Library fields. Check or uncheck the field 'Default search field' (almost at the bottom of the dialogue box) for every field you highligt.
