I must be dumb, when I rip cd's with MJ I get wma or wav files. Can't I rip them into mp3's directly?

yes, you need to go into settings, options and encoder, and set the encoder to "MP3 Encoder" or "MP3 Encoder VBR"

this is in MJ8 by the way

if your using MJ7 you will need to use the encoder "Lame"
