VOB Files

Running MC 14.0.71 on Windows 7.  Whenever I try to play a VOB file, I get "Media Center encountered errors while trying to play the last several files.  Please make sure that the path in your media library points to the right location."  So I double checked, and it does.  In fact, I can open all of these files using VLC.  I don't want to use VLC, I want to use my MC, though.  Any help?

There is a known problem with VOB files running from a USB drive on Vista. Don't know if problem also exists on Windows 7.

If you are not using a USB drive you can ignore this.

I am having the same problem - i cannot play VOB files and get the above error message, even though the auto-import brings the files into the library.

the files are on a windows home server on the network, not connected via USB.

i have the same trouble with playback of .MPx video files.

Sorry. I should have been more specific. DVDs stored on USB drive do not play on Vista. I have not tried playing a vob file outside the dvd structure.

Strange, these are DVD rips I'm playing too with menus and everything exactly as if they're off the DVD... must be something else to it?

Actually I've made a discovery.  It's only my portable install that works.  The normal install doesn't.  Not often that it's that way round!  :)
I see "Waiting".  I guess that confirms it must be an MC bug?

Not running files from USB, but from HDD on my laptop itself.  This is even happening when accessing the file itself, not from the library.  Kinda weird that I would get an error message asking to double check the location when I am trying to open the file from the source itself....
