Playback of ripped DVDs in MC14
« on: November 30, 2009, 01:49:49 am »

I have ripped some home produced DVD's to my network retaining the same VIDEO_TS structure as on the DVD & have imported them into MC.

Under MC13 this worked fine - DVD menu navigation worked & content played OK. I have just upgraded to MC14 and now this same setup does not work. In 14 I can select a [ripped] DVD and MC sometimes plays the menu & lets me select 1 item to play - other times it just hangs. It seems that if the DVD menu needs to be displayed a second time MC hangs.

All my other video media works fine [old SVCD, MP4, M2ts, Mov, AVI].

I installed CCCP when i installed MC13 & everything is running under Vista.

I now have MC13 & 14 installed on the same machine - 13 plays perfectly, but 14 hangs. I have duplicated all MC13 settings into 14 as far as i can tell. I must have missed something ... has anyone else experienced this??

I suggest you find the setting Tools / Options / Playback / DirectShow Video Playback Settings / "Use WMV Acceleration If Available" and turn it off. I've found it to cause very bad hanging in versions prior to 101, and occasional hanging in 101.
