« on: December 02, 2009, 03:04:02 am »

when using teamviewer (remote software) port 80 is used by tm.

i can set mc14 remote server in options to use port 81.

but how to tell clients to search library server on port 81?

Port 80 is used for HTTP protocol. Aka, web stuff. What you are trying to run is the Web remote user interface. It's there to let you take control of playback from a Web browser, on any PC or handheld. If this is what you want, then you simply write :81 at the end of the address, to connect to the "server". Example: http://localServerNameOrIP:81

Maybe you want to enable Library Server instead? If you want a centralized media library, and clients connecting to this, you anable it on the server, under Startup options. This function does not use port 80, as I know of.

Our wiki has an article on "Servers".  It explains the differences.

I think what you want is described here:
http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=52261.0

Library Server must be run on the server.
MC connects to it from the client
Under Playing Now, you will then find "Here" and "There".  "There" is the server's library.

Remote Server will give you a web interface from the client, but it is very simple compared to the solution above.
