cant check for updates

If I had  mj8 on my computer then went and bought a new computer and installed mj8 again and installed the license but hadnt uninstalled mj8 from my old computer could I have problems getting downloads form mj site such as skins? There is a possible problem with mj reader any solutions? using mj8 393

its also saying failed to connect to server and upgrading to mj8 398 hasnt helped

It's ok I've solved my own problem! I scrolled through pages of threads and found the answer - it was a proxy problem
