  Help!  I was fiddling around with MC14 (which I shouldn't have been) and added "Chorus" sound effect (I think from another media player). It showed up as available when I clicked on "Add DirectShow DSP Filter" after clicking on "Add Plug-In".  The effect was to render all other DSP effects inoperable and revert the audio signal to Mono.  What is the process for "uninstalling" any Plug-Ins one has installed?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Player/Playback Options/DSP Studio.  Uncheck the plug-in.

If that doesn't work, rename it in Windows Explorer.

  Uhh...Thanks, Jim H.  I guess it helps if I looked around the menu trees a bit, because I found "Plug In Manager", and it allowed me to uninstall the offending Plug In.  Now, though, when I replay CD's, there is an intermittent click/skip at irregular intervals, and for the half second of the skip, it sounds like the sound field has changed, as if some effect has been applied.  I am positive it wasn't there before.  I hate to be a proverbial pain, but I am uncertain if this is as a result of the darn plug in that disabled the rest (BTW, even if it was UNCHECKED) or another problem.  I thought of myself as relatively computer literate, but obviously I need help to find my own butt in a phonebooth if I missed Plug In Manager somehow.  This new issue, though, is really beyond me and makes the songs virtually unlistenable.   I would appreciate any suggestions.

Did you reboot?  You could also try a reinstall.

I believe the "Chorus" plug-in is a "DMO Audio Effects" filter, probably provided by Microsoft.

If you uninstalled it from Plug-in manager, it should not be playing a role.  To be sure, you can bring out DSP Studio while the audio is playing, and check to see which plug-in is being used (which one has the checkbox checked).  All installed plug-ins show up in the DSP Studio, but only the ones with a check mark are being used.
