xmltv info not working
« on: January 08, 2010, 11:55:46 pm »

This not urgent but have been tinkering with loading xmltv data
File available here
http://users.adam.com.au/coldy/

when i load the info in MC
I can enter the correct channel names for the data
(print screens also at the above address)

But for some reason the only data that gets entered into MC is for the channel 7HD
I am pretty sure that the names are correct for the data and that there is information in the file

Any ideas?

Cheers
Rob

I tried the file and it doesn't work for me either. The data seems to be all there but the formatting is a little off. Shouldn't make a difference but MC might be a little picky about it. Since you're in Oz, try one of these guides instead - they work for me:

Cheers for that the files you suggested work great.
So must be in the formatting
Its a shame because the file I had gets automatically downloaded via epgstream.net 's software - so all happens automatically

I can't take too much credit here, Calvi wrote the scripts I've just provided the Sydney configs.

But they do work well ;)

Duke:  Not sure where you are but download the latest version from the first post in the thread Jmone linked to and then use my config files if you're in Sydney as they are newer than the ones Calvi has in his.  If you're in Melbourne or Perth, configs are included in the main package for there too.

Unfortunately I'm in Adelaide
The guides suggested by raym work well but involves manual downloading
Again it's just a shame that MC has a problem reading the xml files created by epgStream.net
Their software is really user freindly and automatically downloads the data for you

Cheers

what are your scripting skills like? It's pretty easy to auto schedule a daily download of these things using wget and windows task scheduler. This is what I do.  Actually, you can even setup a schedule thru MC directly once you have the script sorted. PM me if you need more details...
