What is the best way to use MC14 to play video files on PC's across my home network? 

I had hoped that by importing video files into my MC library server which I use for distributed audio playback would have done the trick.  Unfortunately, as mentioned in another post (http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=52725.0) streaming doesn't work as expected (huge delays before playback begins, scanning etc.). 

Using a shared library was suggested but I'm not sure how to set this up or the implications of multiple clients accessing the same library.

I would love to know how the experienced users are setting up MC, hardware and network to manage their media especially video files to get me started.
