How To Copy "Date Created" to "Date"?
« on: February 03, 2010, 11:23:35 am »

My digital camera movies show the correct "Date Created" but the "Date" field has something entirely different (not "Date Modified" or "Date Imported")?  When I try to do a "Move/Copy Field" and copy "Date Created" to "Date" the "Date" field gets cleared out unexpectedly and the Date (filename friendly) is something unrecognizable.  Is there a way to copy this date?  Thanks.

Select a file, then, in the tag window, click to edit the date and enter: =[date created] and press enter.

It should work fine. If it does, and you're happy, select all affected files and repeat.

Thanks, Marko.  That worked perfectly.

I have another problem that I hope someone can help me with.  I have several older AVI files from a digital camera that have an incorrect "Date created" in the File Properties (Windows 7 Explorer).  Looking at the File Details in Explorer shows the correct creation date in the "Origin | Media created" field.  Does anyone have any idea how to access this in MC or how to externally copy this value to the file "Date created"?
