Can't get playback with 24/96 khz files through E-Mu 0404
« on: March 04, 2010, 08:52:28 pm »

I have JRiver MC running through ASIO4All to an EMU 0404 on a Windows XP 32 machine. 41khz plays fine but I cannot get 24/96 khz files to play at all. My understanding was the emu 0404 would play what was sent to it.

Can anyone help me with the configuration for this?  I am using USB 2.0 port.

Thanks

MC should be able to play those if the device can.

Make sure you have a recent version of MC.  The one from the top of the MC14 board is 14.0.153.

Where did you get the files?  Are they FLAC?

I downloaded the files as FLAC and just downloaded MC about a week ago. I still have the trial version but it is supposed to be full-featured. I will double check the version later today.

What is the source of the file?

What is the full version number?  The version is under MC/Help/About.

is there a reason why you use asio4all. the emu has his own asio drivers i think. what happens when you use those?

Jim,

I had 151 and am now upgrading to 155. I will try it again.

I assumed that I should use ASIO4ALL, is this a wrong assumption?  Should I use the drivers supplied with the device?

thanks for all your help,

Drew.

Yes.

Also, use DSP Studio > Output Format to dial in a format that works (44.1 / 16-bit for example).  Then try changing the settings one thing at a time to see what's causing the issue.

You're welcome.  gappie knows more than I do about it, so I would try the drivers that came with the device.

Thanks guys - uninstalling asio4all fixed it without any other changes!

Awesome support - I am now more than happy to pay for the app - it is really a nice application.
