Playing m4a using directshow filters

I'm playing m4a files and because of zones I need to use directshow rather than quicktime.  What filters should I be using?

Since you did not specify what codec is in your m4a files, I will just recommend DC-BASS. 

If you do not have Apple lossless, you can use FFDShow audio decoder for decoding and Haali Media Splitter as source filter.

Ya I don't know the codec.  I have tried ffdshow and haali but maybe I"m missing something because it just comes out as noise.

Odd...worked on my 1 machine and not working on my other.  Installed it set it up the same on both machines...ideas?
