I'm choosing a cyberlink video filter that came with my computer (acer revo) however when I select it for mkv's it's not using it.  The graph is below.  This filter is intended to be used with mkv's.  Any way to find out why it's not using it.  It chooses microsoft dtv-dvd video decoder, j. river media proxy video.  I'm getting some stutter right now and coreavc is crashing theatre view so I'm out of options.

This stuff makes my brain hurt, but I wonder if you need the Preferred Filter Tweaker for Windows 7. All I can say is I use it because glynor recommended it.

I used it and it doesn't have cyberlink listed as an option for h.264.  Just microsoft and core and core isn't working.

I've installed powerdvd and it looks like when I select cyberlink video /sp decoder it doesn't load but when I select cyberlink video decoder it does however the video is super choppy.

I'm wondering if this is a win 7 problem becuase when I was using xp I could select this filter no problem and had great success with it.  Microsoft isn't terrible but it does chap at parts.

I'm having an unrelated issue with coreavc right now so I can't use it.

I have MC on another machine using win 7 and it's doing the same thing.  It's not using some filters that I'm choosing.  In this case it's ffdshow audio decoder.  It's using the microsoft audio decoder and subsequently I'm not getting any audio.  Tweaker is good for programs like windows mc where you can choose the filter but I would think in MC since you can choose the filter it would be different but then again the results don't prove that out.

Are there any other programs out there like tweaker?  It's not showing other filters such as cyberlink also when when I select .mkv in the program it lists extensions you no longer want microsoft to associate with their filter and strangely .mkv is not in there.

I'll add to this that I did disable the microsft filters and then played the movie in wmp and it's using ffdshow audio but I can't get MC to use it nor can I get it to use any cyberlink filter.  This is not a jrmc issue I'm playing the file in cyberlink powerdvd and I'm not getting audio either...it's clearly a win 7 issue.

Are there any other users out there with 7 that could test some different filters and see if MC is cooperating?  I can't see it as coincidence that I have 2 different instance acting in the same manner.

I thought this was an issue with the build so I went back to .096 which solved another problem and briefly sovled this one but it's back.  I have cyberlink selected and it's using microsoft's filter.  I tried the link provided to my by another user but some of my filters aren't showing up.

Some help on this would be greatly appreciated.
