MC15.0.14 video bug
« on: March 31, 2010, 05:07:06 pm »

Hi People!.
Just uninstalled MC13 and installed this beta. Some stuff looks awesome (ctrl 6 cover mode for example). Have not tested audio yet (audio is my main multimedia hobby), will be back after that. BUT in the meantime I am testing some videos, the idea of MC 15 would be to use only one app for everything.
THE BUG>: some videos play OK, with real good quality (some hd mkv for example), but some old videos appear distorted, as if they were squished vertically and cut out at the bottom. They also play poorly, sort of pixeled.
I have a lot of documentary stuff from imax, natgeo, etc and they play ok at full screen (1600x900) with mplayer or media player classic home cinema, or even in MC 14 wich I tried some months ago. but in 15 not
Please ideass  ?  ?  ?

I confirm this bug. He appeared from a version 15.012, and in a version 15.008 all was Ok. Also, so the problem of uncapacity is not work MC14&MC15 (Win7 x86) with mkv files in which VC-1 is used as coder, and at the use built-in in Win7 of decoder for VC-1 "Wmvideo Decoder DMO" - see http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=56736.0

A few builds of Media Center 15 were using an older video renderer by mistake.

This will be fixed in a build that should be available in a few days.
