Thumbnails for DSLR mov files
« on: April 04, 2010, 07:03:40 am »

I am able to get thumbnails if I set the playback engine to quicktime, but the playback is jerky and slow. If I set the playback to directshow I get smooth playback but no thumbnail generation. I wonder if there is anything J River could do about this.

Park,

I have the same issue. To workaround it I do the following:

Import new .mov files
change from Directshow to Quicktime
select the new .mov files & rebuild thumbnails
change playback to Directshow

Yes, that's what I did too. It is a pain to do on every computer in the house though.

I agree it is a pain. Hopefully this will become a project for JRiver.
