TapaTalk - Access the Forums on the iPhone
« on: April 07, 2010, 02:18:33 pm »

Would it be possible for you to install the Tapatalk plugin for your forum software so that I can take part in the forums in a convenient way using my iThing and the $3 Tapatalk app? SMF 1.1 forums are now supported.

I'd second this, if its not too much hassle.

Works great on AVForums and the Squeezebox forum...

I've never used tapatalk.  Can you briefly say what you like about it?  (looking for first-hand opinions instead of a features list).
They have it on android also and I've been meaning to check it out.

You lose some functions of the forums (searching is the main one, I think) but gain a forum that's formatted much better for browsing on a small screen.

For quick browsing, its more than adequate, allows you to set favourite forums and remembers where you were in each forum. Very good for filling in ten dead minutes with a quick browse.

There are some truly esoteric forums on there: forums for bi-lingual maggot trainers for example. I only use AVforums and the Squeezebox forums at the moment. JRiver would definitely be a third.

Forum search is supposed to be supported in the latest version. (I have not tried it myself yet.)
