I just started using the Library Server at home / Client at work configuration.


What can I change on the client side that will effect my home (server) computer files/tags?

I noticed that every option is available to me on the client, such as Delete, Change Cover Art, etc, but those don't seem to effect the server (even with "Tools>Options>Library>Automatically Sync on Shutdown..." selected).

The only thing that changes are actual text tags like Artist, Album, etc. Shouldn't options not available be greyed out to avoid confusion?


Is there an easy way to download files to the client computer from the server?

I can't drag and drop to the client computer, as I get an error saying "Cannot Copy File: Cannot read from the source file or disk"

HOWEVER, I can use the 'Sync Handheld' feature and the file will be copied to my mp3 player, so I can get the file in a backdoor sort of way. Is this as designed?

Update: When I sync audio files to a client handheld from the server, the copied mp3 file gets random numbers added to the end. For instance, on my handheld, the original "Billie Jean.mp3" comes across and ends up as "Billie Jean - 3624.mp3"
