Launching files from other apps
« on: June 27, 2002, 08:28:09 am »

I am using Win2Kp & MJ8 (311 build).

With MJ8 & LimeWire open, MJ doesn't play music file when launched from LimeWire. This happens from directory/file windows (and File Manager) in Win2k also (right click then select play). Either action brings MJ to front(which I don't care for - needs to stay in the display state it was in previously) but doesn't play selected file. I went through folder options and reassociated ogg's & mp3's with MJ. It didn't help.
Other than that, it works fine.

Thanks

I just uninstalled MJ and rebooted. I reinstalled MJ8 (312 build). Problem still occurs as described earlier. MJ7 worked fine in this regard. It does work IF MJ is closed and the file is selected to play from another window/File Manager/LimeWire. MJ will open and play the song but NOT if it is already open. Is there any MJ option that may have a bearing on this? Once again I am using Win2Kp SP2. I don't know what other info I can give you.

Further clarification:

I brought up a window with my d:\music directory contents.
Right clicking brings up:
-------------
Play (NW)
Open (NW)
Media Jukebox => Play (W)
=> Add to playing now (W)
Open With => Media Jukebox (NW)
-------------

key: (W) = works
(NW) = not working (brings MJ to top though)

Another problem was when I uninstalled B311 and reinstalled B312
I reimported from d:\music. In some cases (particularly with the
ogg's) it failed to import them.
