Direct Sound or ASIO?
« on: April 23, 2010, 04:09:25 pm »

I don't know whether it a bug of MC15, impossible in general or simply my wrong handling (oops). But in MC14 it also won't work.

I have a bright new M-Audio Fast Track Pro audio interface, which is pretty nice. Nevertheless I have problems to use both channel types at the same time (using zones).

The Fast Track Pro has channel 1/2 (for stereo) and channel 3/4 (for stereo of type S/PDIF). The latter is mirrored to an general purpose audio channel, and can be switched between 1/2 and visa versa for the headphones. I want to use channel 3/4 to preview titles. But, whenever I configure 3/4 as Direct Sound any playback remains stopped (i.e. not started) w/o any warning (regardless of using zones) and whenever I configure the audio output within MC15 to ASIO it's running but only when I start it first (before any output to 1/2). If sound outputs to 1/2 and I want to start 3/4 ASIO, MC says that's impossible because of 'The ASIO rate is not supported by one of the USB interfaces!'.

What can I do to get them both running independently?

Thanks a lot with all my best wishes from Munich/Germany,

Joerg
