Can Split View be dependant on Media Mode?
« on: May 01, 2010, 04:36:18 pm »

i.e. Can I have a Split View (preferably locked) in audio displaying 'Playing Now' that does not also appear in Videos where I do not really want it? I would like to see what I have in 'Now Playing' while I'm browsing my Library all on one screen.

Thanks,

John

I don't think so. The ability to use separate tabs for different kinds of views was a huge improvement. But it seems illogical that changing the split in one view/tab affects all of them. Fortunately, I only display things used occasionally in my "view 2"—so it's normally collapsed. I'm slowly getting used to just collapsing it when I find it open in a view where I don't want it. It looks particularly goofy when I'm displaying PN and then I switch to my separate PN tab. ;)

It's difficult to imagine how the split configuration could be made to change according to media type or tab. But maybe the split position could be maintained (or just "remembered") by tab or view. I presume you wouldn't mind a split existing—as long as it remained collapsed where not wanted.

You can open 2 instances of media center (set in options, General, Advanced), do what you want in each one of them...
