ipad as a remote
« on: May 07, 2010, 07:32:08 am »

While I'm trolling this morning I just thought I'd mention what an awesome combination the iPad and MC/Theatre View make.
Just use a VNC app to use it as a controller for MC or the new Web Access/Remote features in MC.

Way better than a wireless keyboard or (gasp) a laptop running VNC.

Did you try it? What app do you use and how is the performance? I just tried out VNC lite on my ipad. The screen update performance is rather lousy.

I'd love to see someone using Remote Desktop for this.
There appears to be a few YouTube videos indicating it's possible

I too thought it would be a great (but outrageously expensive) RC - the downside is it does not have any IR so no way to control the AV Equipment directly from the iPad....

You could also run WebRemote on it.
