Clearing Bookmarks Or Turning Off Bookmarks
« on: May 12, 2010, 12:13:23 pm »

I have a bunch of .avi music videos, and I dont like how MC15 bookmarks them in the middle if I dont finish the video.

Is there a way to turn off bookmarks completely?

Otherwise in there a way to clear them?

I read something about a file that contains this info which I could delete as another alternative if MC does not have this type of functionality built in.  Does anyone know what the exact name of this file is?

Thanks for your help!

If you don't want a bookmark set, hit stop twice when stopping play (or after it has stopped). Existing bookmarks can be removed by clearing values in the Bookmarks field. Bookmarking can be disabled for specific files by changing the value in the Use Bookmarking field from "default" to "no." It can't be turned off completely.

Hello, thanks for your reply.

Can I select all my files and then change the "use bookmarking" to No?  Or do I have to do it one by one?

Also, if I create a script to delete this file C:\Users\mmmm\AppData\Roaming\J River\Media Center 15\Library\field (bookmark).jmd
everytime I run MC15, do you see any problem with that method?

Yes.

I don't know what unintended consequences there might be. Why don't you try it and let us know? ;)
