Tried browsing the files: http://localhost:52198/WebPlay/library.html?LibraryLocation=1005
Got the error: Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

In Options > Network, use:
Enable easy access from anywhere

It will tell you if your server is reachable.  If not, you need to configure your firewall / router.


Then, in Options > Network, use:
Manage access to server...

Use it to email an invitation to any person or device.  The invitation includes simple links to open WebPlay and WebRemote.

I don't see "Enable easy access from anywhere" in the Network window

'Manage access' tells me the server is not reachable over the internet but that's ok as I'm using WebPlay in my LAN
WebPlay works fine inside the LAN, only the file browsing is failing me.

Portforwarding on the router did the job.
Now IE crashes. Receiving information about 20.000 files is probably a bit to much

You may need to customize the views to use grouping by letters or other categorization if you have a very large library.

Using a smaller test library Webplay > All files works
Portforwarding is off, it is not needed inside a LAN
Problems reported above are probably due to the size (20.000)

I tried the default view (All Files) with a Modifier limiting the number to 10, doesn't work
The only way I see to apply grouping is to add something like Album to the view and apply grouping.
This won't help as all individual files are displayed first

You can customize the views in Options > Network > WebPlay > Customize views...

With a large library, slow device, or both, we recommend adding grouping levels and removing the 'All Files' view.

We hope to update the default views (or automatically add grouping as necessary) in a coming build.
