Having trouble importing playlists
« on: May 26, 2010, 04:49:24 pm »

I am running auto-import against a directory on my hard drive containing MP3s and playlists (M3u format).  The import is working on the mp3s but the playlists don't appear to be importing.  I have the file type associated with MC.  Is there anything I should check in the settings to get it to import the playlists?  Thanks.

Check the auto import options for the directory.  Tools/Import.

Recover my Playlist

Can I recover my playlist.   A few weeks ago windows became corrupted and would not boot without blue screening.   I have a copy of my hard drive and the registry.  Is there any way of recovering my playlist.  Is it saved in the registry or hard drive.

Thanks
Jason

Playlists are a part of the MC database (i.e., the MC Library) which is normally (by default) stored in your user directory.  MC creates a backup library daily and if the library is corrupted, you should be able to restore from your backup library.  I ALWAYS use the file->export all playlists to create standard m3u versions of the playlists in addition to the database version.
