MC making duplicates when tagging fails - how to remove?
« on: May 28, 2010, 11:10:58 pm »

I've been cleaning up some tags but notice that at times I get the "failed to update tags...file in use" error.  No biggie - I'll just "Update Tags from Library" when I've finished.  The problem is that MC seems to the make a COPY of the audio file such as:  "01 - Song.mp3" + "01 - Song (1).mp3" and in some cases even a "01 - Song (2).mp3"!  These are now scattered all over my disc.

Is there a simple way to:
1) Remove these duplicates
2) Stop them from being created

Thanks
Nathan

Hi Nathan,
Im a newbie here, so excuse me if im off the mark, but it sounds like you have some auto-convert feature switched on, and MC is converting certain files in the background, is that possible?

Mark.
