Search box not working
« on: May 28, 2010, 02:15:13 am »

Dear Folks,

I recently noticed an odd behaviour with the search box:
Whatever string I type in the search box will always show and select my entire library regardless of what I have been typing. This is making the search feature pretty useless for now.

I tried to re-install MC14, change the library, do some searching on the interact about the issue, without any succcess. I consider myself a seasoned MC user (well, I was) but this time I'm "le bec dans l'eau!" (speechless)

What's happening, is is me? am I doing anything wrong?
Anybody experienced this before?

I am Running JRMC14.0.165 on Windows XP SP3,

Thanks for any help on the issue,

Best,

Christian

Hi Jim, Hello Minneapolis,

I suspect something is really wrong with my system because I had a lot of problems with other software package today. Coming back to MC, creating a blank library and importing new files ended up with only blank entries ?? Strange. Even MS Office is behaving in odd manners.

I'm going to proceed with a careful scan of my system,

Will keep you informed,

In the meantime, passe un bon week-end and regards to the J River gang,

Hi Folks,

I finally solved my issue. Something went wrong with my drive configuration and my main MC library files ended up pointing to a network drive (my NAS). I don't reallly know how this happened??
Anyway, I restored a backup (thanks for the backup feature) of my library in the right place and everything is flying again.

By the way, do you know that the oldest imports in my current library are dated 15 August 2003 (the last time I did a complete import of my files). The same old library has been upgraded across the various versions from MJ8 or something up to JRMC14 without re-import. Great.

Ciao for now,

Christian
