mp3gain
« on: June 08, 2010, 11:36:31 pm »

Hello,

did anyone manage to get mp3gain working with the "send to external" function without mc15 opening a new cmd-window for every file and accepting the parameters?

thank You

If you mean the MP3Gain command line program I don't think that is directly possible.

However, you have probably installed also the MP3Gain GUI Windows program.

You can simply drag & drop files directly to the MP3Gain Window. For instance, load the files to Playing Now, select all, and drag & drop to MP3gain or drag & drop a playlist from MC's tree to MP3Gain.

Just checking the MP3Gain site to see what it is, doesn't the Volume Leveling feature in MC's DSP Studio along with Analyze Audio do the same thing? I guess unless you're not using MC for playback.

It would be wonderful if it does, but the mc solution is only working inside the program...the mp3gain solution also working on mp3players ect.

It does but that's not the solution. Replay Gain needs hardware support (your mp3 player), MP3Gain needs nothing.

Oh, so mp3gain actually change the volume of the mp3 instead of a soft value to be interpreted by the player?

To simplify, Mp3Gain changes are done on the data itself but in a reversible (lossless) way. ReplayGain is just tags, that a standalone player may or may not know how to interpret.
