Burning APE files to CD as MP3s
« on: April 16, 2003, 04:09:17 pm »

Hi y'all

First time question.  I'm using 8.0 and Windows XP.
I've ripped most of my Cds onto my HD, using Monkey's Audio, and I've been sucessful copying WAV to CD.

I wanted to burn a CD with MP3's, since my discman reads MP3, but I cannot find any parameters that let me choose MP3 and a bitrate as I burn a CD,

Thanks for your help

Just select the tracks and press the burn button.

If you need a different bit-rate on the CD, select them and convert them first.  Be careful not to delete your originals.

Hi Jim

thanks. That brings up another question.  Since I'm selecting APE files to burn, and they're bigger files than the MP3s that eventually get burned, I'm assuming I highlight more than a CD full of APE sized files, and then they'll get crunched before they burn onto CD.
I have multiple HDs.  Should I convert them to another HD, and then delete the files after they've been written to CD?
Thanks again
