Is this split view scenario possible?

Split view with 2 columns.
Can the content of the right side change based on filter applied on left side?

What I want to do is have 1 view that shows only .jpg files on left side.
Click on a single image on that left side and have the right side view display ALL files in same folder as that single selected image?
