Easy Copy File off Remote Server?
« on: June 30, 2010, 06:56:25 pm »

At work I can connect to my home server to play songs using the ip:port syntax.  Ok.  Please is there a straight forward way to download a file off my server when I am at work with mc15.  Or is this just something mc15 is never intended to be able to do and Rube Goldberg configurations are necessary to carry it off?  Sync setup syntax?  Windows 7 local machine connecting to XP machine remotely.

This tool can be used to download content from a Library Server:
File > Library > Sync Library...

It does the whole library, not just individual files.

I have found that you can nab an individual file over the network by doing a Handheld Sync.

Just sync a (remote) file to a (local) USB/flash drive and you got it!

I setup C:\Music as my handheld device and right click on a song to send it there which works well after years of wishing for this ablility.

The only option I am not sure how to do is to be able to duplicate the file's existing relative path location under c:\music.  Right now it is creating the path based on [Artist]\[Album]\.  Is there some syntax to enter in the Audio Path options to create the file's original location on c:\music?
