upgrade to MC15 on Dell Latitude D620 = no sound output
« on: July 07, 2010, 08:32:43 pm »

I just upgraded from MC12 (yeah, I know... but I'm finally joining this decade) to MC15.0.58 but I can't get any sound from the install on my Dell Latitude D620 laptop.

Configuration is exactly the same as the MC12 installation on the same laptop (which is still installed):

  • Output mode: Direct Sound
  • Device: Primary Sound Driver
  • Channels: Default Channels

The Windows default playback device is Speakers and everything is pretty default there.

The config works with MC12 & Windows Media Player but nothing I do convinces MC15 to generate any sound. The tracks "play" (at least the spectrum analyzer display dances) but no output no matter what I do.

Help!

Thanks for the purchase.  In Options for Audio, try choosing the sound device.

Try WAV Out as well.

Check for muted sound or low volume.
