This function would be very useful.
Or you could have DSP Studio to support Console plug-in host (http://console.jp/en/).

Bibo, if this feature isn't added, you can use one of the free multichannel plugins from Voxengo to map channels. You can install the Span plugin and click the Routing button (not the drop down arrow, but the actual button). You can then use the plugin for more advanced channel mapping. For example, you could route the input on channel 1 to the output on channels 1, 2, & 3 so you could set up a 3 way crossover for a speaker (and if you purchase GlissEQ, you could actually use it to create the crossovers). You could also stack Span and another plugin such as Sound Delay for even more routing and rerouting. You don't have to use the features of the plugin except for using its routing capability.

You still need to set in Output Format at least the number of channels you will be using since the plugins don't create new channels. If you use 7.1 with unused channels silent you can then map the stereo channels to an additional six channels.
