Registration of MJ8 from vers 6 registration file

I purchased vers 6 back in mar 2001 and when I downloaded vers 7.2 I had no problem with registration.  Now that I downloaded vers 8, I am cannot register it.  Does this mean that I have to purchase the liscence again?
