Is it possible to search the FORMAT tag?
« on: July 23, 2010, 09:44:35 am »

I've been trying to diagnose a problem with my Squeeze Server setup where albums have been split into multiple parts.  It turns out that the culprit is musicbrainz tags added during picard sessions... If I remove them the problem goes away.  Unfortunately they are imbedded in the FLAC files outside of Media Center and are only presented by MC in the FORMAT tag...

The only way I've found to clear them is to REMOVE TAGS and then UPDATE TAGS (FROM LIBRARY) for each offending album.

Is there a way to search the FORMAT tag or otherwise identify files that contain the musicbrainz ids within MC??  Obviously I don't want to do anything outside of MC that might break the tagged files within MC so want to do all the editing within MC...

Cheers,

Mark

If you created a custom field with the name Musicbrainz used, Media Center could import, database, and search the values.

Do 'Update Library (from tags)' after creating the appropriate field(s).
