DSP resampling question
« on: August 03, 2010, 03:16:26 pm »

Matt

I've got several 24/88 flac files which are not supported by my usd device. The device only supports 32,44.1,48 and 96. If I use DSP and set MC to resample below 44 and above 48 and set the resample rate to 24/96 what would MC do with an existing 24/96 flac file. Leave it alone or process it in some way? The alternative is to recode the 24/88 to something else and turn off DSP.

I've always assumed any processing of any kind is detrimental to SQ.

Thanks

If you use the latest version, you'll notice this text in DSP Studio > Output Format.  I've added bold for emphasis:

Quote
Sample rate is the frequency of playback.  The program uses an audiophile grade resampler.

No changes are made if the same sample rate is selected as the input.  Requires stop of playback for changes to take effect.

So I think it already does exactly what you want.

Matt

Thank you for the confirmation. I guess I should have looked a little closer!  I am now a very very happy MC user. It's taken me 5 years to get the 'ideal' music whole house solution and I now think I'm there. Next task is to get the wife to use it!

Ps any advice on the shuffle remainder option within webremote?
