I am using event-ghost on my pc to allow my phone to remote control MC.
with the new addition of a client on android, the pc can now react to events from the phone.
I currently have play,pause,FF,RR set up. Also when I make or receive a call MC will pause and resume playing  after the call ends.
I highly recommend this solution, it has been working terrific for me so far.
