I took the MJ12 offer of an update to MJ14 but was disappointed to find this did not update the MJ12 instalaltion, but made a new installation of MJ14 having none of my data.

I'd prefer to update without having to transfer data and uninstall the original version.

So what's the correct procedure for updating an existing installation? I see that the default program installation directories are version-specific ... but if I have to make some special prep during the original installation, fine.

Or is this unsupported?

Thanks.

Try a backup from MJ12 and restoring it to MJ14.

Thanks for that partial workaround Jim and for the great Backup/Restore feature. Still, if there is a fix, I'd like to hear.
