Backup / Storage
« on: April 12, 2003, 03:42:58 am »

I have over 2100 tracks in my collection and I need to find a Backup program that I can use so I don't lose anything in case of a failure.   Can anyone help?

For A Backup Program I Use Vice-Versa ver 2.4..by www.tgrmn.com.....others will probably have other programs that they use..but one thing about this program..is you can view/delete stuff from a list...
before you do a backup...most backup programs ive tried backed up everyting without intervention....

I'm looking at the ViceVersa website now, is this product for individuals who have server drives?  I only have two hard drives and a CD Drive.  Will this still work for me?

Go get a Adaptec ATA RAID card (1200A) for ~ $60. Pick up a couple 60 GB or so drives (bought 2 WD's from Best Buy that after rebate were ~ $50 each)***. Set the RAID level to 1 (creating a mirrored volume). While not a substitute for a good backup, it decreases the backup frequency and you can spend more time counting sheep than biting your nails.

edit: *** or get a drive matching your non-booter
